Quartile rating: 5.5/10 · 1 rating

200 years after his shocking creation, Dr. Frankenstein's creature, Adam, still walks the earth. But when he finds himself in the middle of a war over the fate of humanity, Adam discovers he holds the key that could destroy humankind.

The Quartile Take

I, Frankenstein is a largely forgettable action-fantasy that squanders an intriguing premise. The plot is thin and derivative, recycling familiar supernatural war tropes onto a Frankenstein framework without much imagination. Aaron Eckhart does what he can with an underwritten lead, but the ensemble acting is generally flat. The cinematography has some slick, stylized moments typical of the genre but nothing truly distinctive. The novelty of blending Frankenstein mythology with gargoyle-vs-demon warfare feels gimmicky rather than genuinely inventive, largely borrowed from the Underworld template. The ending resolves predictably with little emotional payoff.
