A group of friends are lured to an isolated cabin by a promise of heavy partying, only to find themselves in a nightmarish game of truth or dare.
Truth or Dare (2012) is a British low-budget thriller that competently executes its cabin-in-the-woods revenge premise with a reasonably engaging plot built around bullying and vengeance, giving it slightly more thematic weight than typical genre fare. The acting is inconsistent across the ensemble, with performances ranging from passable to weak. Cinematography is functional but unremarkable, typical of low-budget horror productions. The concept, while not entirely fresh, borrows heavily from established torture-horror tropes and the isolated-house setup offers little that feels distinctive. The ending delivers a satisfying, if somewhat predictable, twist that rounds out the revenge narrative adequately.
