The Quartile Take

Cyborg is a lean, low-budget Van Damme vehicle that delivers serviceable post-apocalyptic action but little else. The plot is skeletal and derivative, borrowing liberally from Mad Max and other cyberpunk touchstones without adding anything distinctive. Acting is functional at best. The cinematography is workmanlike for its era and budget. Novelty is low — while the cyberpunk aesthetic has some charm, the film is largely a formulaic genre exercise. The ending resolves predictably. It's a watchable B-movie but genuinely average across the board.
