Don't Move (2024)

Quartile rating: 6.5/10 · 1 rating

A grieving woman in a secluded forest encounters a killer who injects her with a paralytic drug. As her body shuts down, her fight for survival begins.

The Quartile Take

Don't Move is a competent but fairly formulaic survival-horror thriller. The paralysis-drug premise provides a clever constraint that drives tension, but the execution leans heavily on genre conventions without subverting them. Acting is serviceable from the leads, anchoring the emotional throughline of grief without reaching exceptional heights. Cinematography captures the forest setting with functional dread but rarely distinguishes itself visually. The concept, while engaging, echoes other single-location survival thrillers and doesn't push into genuinely novel territory. The ending is disheartening and somewhat abrupt, leaving the film feeling unresolved rather than purposefully ambiguous, which undercuts the emotional investment built earlier.
