When nine-year-old Alfalfa falls for Darla, his "He-Man-Woman-Hating" friends attempt to sabotage their relationship.
The Little Rascals is a charming but thin adaptation of the classic Our Gang shorts. The plot is serviceable kids' comedy fare but offers little depth or surprise. The child actors are endearing and energetic, capturing the spirit of the original characters well enough to entertain its target audience. Cinematography is standard mid-90s family film fare with nothing distinctive. Novelty is limited — while it adapts beloved IP, the execution follows predictable family comedy formulas of the era. The ending wraps things up warmly in expected fashion. A nostalgic crowd-pleaser that doesn't transcend its lightweight premise.
