After two years away, Hache returns to Barcelona seeking a fresh start. Falling for Gin while facing unresolved feelings for Babi, he must confront love, loss, and who he's becoming.
I Want You (2012), the sequel to Three Steps Above Heaven, continues the melodramatic teen romance formula set in Barcelona. The plot follows familiar beats of love triangles and coming-of-age angst tied to street racing culture, offering emotional engagement but little narrative surprise. Acting is competent from the young cast without being remarkable. Cinematography captures Barcelona attractively but stays within conventional romance-drama visual language. Novelty is low given it recycles the established formula of its predecessor and the broader Spanish teen romance genre without a distinctive voice or fresh conception. The ending provides reasonable emotional closure for the characters' arcs without being particularly memorable or subversive.
