Chucky is reconstructed by a toy factory to dispel the negative publicity surrounding the doll, and tracks young Andy Barclay to a foster home where the chase begins again.
Child's Play 2 is a competent but formulaic horror sequel that largely retreads the original's premise without adding much new. The plot — Chucky reconstructed and hunting Andy again — is straightforward slasher continuation with little narrative ambition. Acting is serviceable but unremarkable, with Alex Vincent returning adequately and the foster family characters feeling thinly written. Cinematography is a modest highlight, with some effectively staged kills and decent production design, particularly in the toy factory climax which provides genuine visual energy. Novelty is low as this is a by-the-numbers sequel recycling the evil doll concept with minimal fresh ideas. The factory finale is the film's strongest asset, delivering an inventive and memorably gory conclusion that elevates it slightly above pure mediocrity, earning a slightly above-average Ending score.
