After a mysterious leader imposes his law in a brutal system of vertical cells, a new arrival battles against a dubious food distribution method.
The Platform 2 struggles to justify its existence as a follow-up to the original's striking debut. The vertical prison concept still yields some visual interest and the cinematography maintains the grimy claustrophobic atmosphere, but the narrative feels like a retread dressed in new philosophical clothing. The anarchist food-distribution premise adds little genuine insight beyond the first film, and the characters lack the depth needed to carry the moral allegory. Acting is functional but unremarkable, and the ending fails to deliver the provocative punch its predecessor achieved. Overall a derivative and underwhelming continuation.
