The Quartile Take

Paranoia (2013) is a generic corporate espionage thriller that fails to capitalize on its premise or cast. The plot is predictable and derivative, following a formulaic trajectory with few genuine surprises. Despite a capable cast including Liam Hemsworth, Gary Oldman, and Harrison Ford, the performances are largely wasted on thin, underwritten characters—even the seasoned veterans seem to be going through the motions. Cinematography is competent and polished in a glossy Hollywood manner, reflecting its big-studio production values without distinguishing itself. The film offers little novelty, recycling familiar corporate thriller tropes seen in countless predecessors. The ending is unsatisfying and predictable, failing to deliver meaningful tension or resolution. Overall a forgettable mid-tier thriller that underperforms relative to its talent pool.
