An intimate, fantastical and narrative-driven reflection of Jennifer Lopez's journey of self-healing and self-love in an immersive world where music and visuals intertwine, revealing the challenges faced and the triumphs achieved.
This Is Me…Now is a visually ambitious vanity project that dazzles with its lavish, surrealist production design and cinematography while stumbling in almost every other regard. The plot is thinly conceived — a self-mythologizing narrative about love and healing that lacks dramatic tension or genuine vulnerability. Lopez's performance is earnest but limited, and the supporting cast is largely wasted in symbolic roles. The ending feels abrupt and emotionally unearned, leaving little resonance. Its novelty lies in the hybrid musical-film-documentary format, which is genuinely unusual even if the execution is uneven. Cinematography is a genuine standout — the visual world-building is striking and distinctive enough to qualify as well above average.
