A detective solves the puzzle box that releases the diabolical demon, Pinhead. As those around him begin to meet tragic fates, he sets out to conquer the horrifying villain.

The Quartile Take

Hellraiser: Inferno is a surprisingly ambitious entry in the franchise, functioning more as a neo-noir psychological thriller than a straightforward horror sequel. The plot—a corrupt detective descending into a guilt-ridden nightmare—works reasonably well and the film uses Pinhead sparingly but effectively. The ending's moral reckoning is more thoughtful than typical DTV fare. Acting is serviceable but uneven, and the cinematography is competent without being distinctive. Its novelty comes from grafting the Hellraiser mythology onto a detective story framework, making it feel distinct from its predecessors despite the DTV limitations.
