The Dream Team (2012) is a fairly formulaic French regional comedy-drama following well-worn underdog sports team tropes. The plot of recruiting old players to save a community is derivative of countless similar films. Acting and cinematography are competent but unremarkable for a mid-tier French production. The Breton coastal setting gives the ending a modest warmth that elevates it slightly above the generic, but overall the film offers little that distinguishes it from the broader sports-saves-the-community genre.
