P2 is a competent but fairly formulaic cat-and-mouse thriller set in a parking garage on Christmas Eve. The single-location premise offers some claustrophobic tension, but the plot hits predictable beats without much surprise. Wes Bentley delivers an unnerving performance as the obsessive antagonist and Rachel Nichols holds her own, elevating the material somewhat. The cinematography makes decent use of the cold, fluorescent-lit garage environment for atmosphere. However, the film breaks little new ground in the kidnapper/captive subgenre and the ending resolves in a fairly routine fashion without a memorable punch.
