Nicole and Chase live next door to each other but are worlds apart. However, they plot a scheme to date each other in order to attract the interest and jealousy of their respective romantic prey. But in the mist of planning a gala centennial celebration, Nicole and Chase find that the one they always wanted was closer than they ever thought.

The Quartile Take

Drive Me Crazy is a fairly formulaic late-90s teen rom-com that leans heavily on the 'fake dating neighbors fall for each other' trope without meaningfully subverting it. The plot is predictable and derivative of better films in the genre. Acting from Melissa Joan Hart and Adrian Grenier is serviceable and carries some charm, keeping the film watchable. Cinematography is unremarkable, standard for the era and genre. Novelty is low given how closely it hews to established teen romance conventions. The ending is warm and satisfying enough for fans of the genre, hitting the expected beats competently if not memorably.
