Using a special camera that can see spirits, a family must protect their daughter from an evil entity with a sinister plan.
The sixth entry in the Paranormal Activity franchise offers little beyond franchise fatigue. The 'special camera' gimmick to visualize the ghost dimension is a minor novelty for the series but ultimately feels like a desperate attempt to justify the 3D release rather than a meaningful story evolution. The plot rehashes familiar found-footage haunting beats with a family and imperiled child, the acting is functional at best, and the cinematography is constrained by the found-footage format without doing anything distinctive within it. The ending, meant to serve as a series conclusion, is unsatisfying and muddled, failing to deliver on the franchise's mythology in a compelling way.
