The Quartile Take

Ghosts of Georgia is a loosely connected sequel in name only, following the tired formula of a family-moves-into-haunted-house with little narrative freshness. The plot recycles familiar haunted house beats tied to a historical underground railroad subplot that never fully coalesces. Acting is serviceable but unremarkable, with the cast unable to elevate generic material. Cinematography provides some atmospheric Southern Gothic visuals that stand slightly above the norm for the subgenre. Novelty is low — despite the Georgia setting offering mild regional flavor, the story is largely derivative and formulaic. The ending fails to deliver satisfying resolution or memorable scares, wrapping up in predictable fashion.
