A guy who danced with what could be the girl of his dreams at a costume ball only has one hint at her identity: the Zune she left behind as she rushed home in order to make her curfew. And with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity in front of him, he sets out to find his masked beauty.
Another Cinderella Story is a straightforward modern fairy-tale retelling aimed at the family/tween market, following its predecessor's formula almost beat for beat with a Zune substituting for the glass slipper. The plot is entirely predictable and derivative, offering little surprise beyond its dance-centric framing. Acting is serviceable but unremarkable, with Selena Gomez showing charm but limited range at this stage. Cinematography is competent but generic made-for-TV in style. Novelty is low — it's a sequel to a remake of a classic fairy tale with minimal creative reinvention. The ending delivers the expected crowd-pleasing resolution with enough energy in the dance sequences to earn a slight bump. Overall a pleasant but formulaic entry in the genre.
