A police chief in the war-torn streets of Los Angeles discovers that an extraterrestrial creature is hunting down residents - and that he is the next target.
Predator 2 transplants the alien hunter from jungle to urban LA, which is a decent setting switch, but the formula is largely recycled from the original. Danny Glover carries the film adequately as the maverick cop but the supporting cast is uneven. The cinematography captures the gritty, neon-soaked early 90s LA atmosphere reasonably well. The plot is derivative and the drug war backdrop feels underexplored. The ending with the trophy room reveal and the Predator clan moment is a genuine highlight and expands the lore interestingly, saving the finale from mediocrity.
