Scientist Bruce Banner scours the planet for an antidote to the unbridled force of rage within him: the Hulk. But when the military masterminds who dream of exploiting his powers force him back to civilization, he finds himself coming face to face with a new, deadly foe.
The Incredible Hulk is a competent but largely forgettable entry in the MCU. The plot is a fairly standard fugitive/monster story with a by-the-numbers villain arc in the Abomination. Edward Norton brings genuine intensity to Bruce Banner and Tim Roth is a serviceable antagonist, elevating the acting above the material. Cinematography is workmanlike with some decent action staging but nothing visually distinctive. Novelty is low — it closely follows the superhero origin formula and feels derivative even within its own genre, offering little that distinguishes it from other entries. The ending delivers a satisfying superhero showdown but resolves predictably, leaving little lasting impression. A solidly average MCU film that has largely faded from the franchise's memory.
