But with help from their family, friends and coworkers they soon discover that the most important (and hilarious) adventures are the ones that we don't see coming.

The Quartile Take

Get a Job is a fairly generic post-college comedy that covers well-worn territory about young adults struggling to find their footing after graduation. The plot is formulaic and predictable, hitting standard beats of the genre without much surprise. The cast (Miles Teller, Anna Kendrick, Bryan Cranston) brings some credibility and charm to the material, elevating it slightly above what the script deserves. Cinematography is unremarkable and workmanlike. The film offers little novelty, recycling familiar tropes from the quarter-life crisis genre. The ending resolves neatly but without much earned emotional payoff, feeling rushed and convenient.
