In Your Eyes (2014)

Quartile rating: 7/10 · 1 rating

Two seemingly unconnected souls from different corners of the United States make a telepathic bond that allows them to see, hear, and feel the other's experiences, creating a connection that cannot be broken.

The Quartile Take

In Your Eyes is a Joss Whedon-penned romantic fantasy that leans into its intimate, low-budget charm. The telepathic connection premise is handled with warmth and originality in execution, even if the concept itself isn't entirely new. The leads share genuine chemistry across their invisible distance, and the dialogue crackles with Whedon's characteristic wit. However, the cinematography is functional at best — a straightforward indie visual palette with little distinctive flair. The plot hits familiar romance beats once the central gimmick is established, and the ending, while satisfying emotionally, doesn't quite transcend the expected. A sweet, underseen film that works more on feeling than ambition.
