Eccentric scientist Victor Von Frankenstein creates a grotesque creature in an unorthodox scientific experiment.

The Quartile Take

Victor Frankenstein (2015) retells the classic Shelley story from Igor's perspective, a mildly fresh angle that doesn't fully pay off. The plot is messy and tonally inconsistent, struggling to balance bromance, gothic horror, and action spectacle. James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe bring energy and commitment to their roles, elevating the material somewhat, though the performances occasionally tip into overacting. Cinematography is competent with some atmospheric Victorian London visuals but nothing particularly distinguished. The Igor-centric framing provides a thin veneer of novelty over an otherwise familiar and formulaic retelling. The ending is rushed and unsatisfying, failing to deliver meaningful emotional or thematic resolution.
