An exorcist comes up against an evil from his past when he uses his skills to enter the mind of a nine year old boy.
Incarnate attempts a sci-fi spin on the exorcism genre by framing the process as a form of mind-invasion rather than religious ritual, which gives it some novelty points. However, the execution is largely underwhelming — the plot is predictable and borrows heavily from genre conventions, the acting is serviceable but unremarkable even from Aaron Eckhart, the cinematography is flat and TV-movie-level, and the ending fails to deliver meaningful payoff. The central concept is intriguing but squandered.
