Ouija (2014) is a formulaic supernatural horror that offers little beyond recycled haunted-house and séance tropes. The plot follows a predictable trajectory with underdeveloped characters making horror-movie clichés at every turn. Acting is serviceable at best, with a young cast given little to work with. Cinematography is competent but unremarkable, relying on standard jump-scare staging and dark corridors. Novelty is genuinely low — the Ouija board premise has been explored countless times, and this entry adds nothing distinctive to the subgenre. The ending resolves tension weakly, with a twist that feels unearned and rushed.
