The Quartile Take

A competent but conventional fashion biopic that covers familiar biographical territory without offering fresh perspective or structural innovation. The film looks elegant and captures period atmosphere well, but follows a well-worn rise-and-struggle narrative arc. Acting is solid without being revelatory, and the ending feels abrupt and emotionally unsatisfying for viewers hoping for deeper resolution. Novelty suffers as the film competes with Jalil Lespert's take released the same year and doesn't distinguish itself sufficiently from standard prestige biography fare.
