After a freak accident, an invisible yuppie runs for his life from a treacherous CIA official while trying to cope with his new life.
Memoirs of an Invisible Man is most notable for its groundbreaking practical invisibility effects, which remain impressive even by modern standards and earned it genuine technical acclaim. Chevy Chase and Daryl Hannah are watchable, but the tonal mismatch between comedy and thriller never fully resolves. The plot is thin and episodic, more a loose framework to showcase visual effects than a coherent narrative. The ending fizzles without satisfying resolution to either the thriller or romantic threads. The invisibility conceit itself isn't radically new, but the execution and perspective shots are distinctive enough to elevate Novelty slightly above average.
