The acting is solid with Wayne delivering one of his most nuanced performances, though some supporting players lean toward broad comic relief. The ending — that famous doorframe shot — is visually and emotionally powerful, though the resolution of the narrative itself feels somewhat abrupt and underexplored given the moral complexity built up throughout.
