The story of humankind's last stand against a cataclysmic alien invasion. Set in the war-ravaged African countryside, a U.S. soldier and a French foreign aid worker team up to survive the alien onslaught. Their bond will be tested as they search for refuge across a crumbling world.
Revolt is a low-budget alien invasion film that offers little new to the genre. The African setting provides some visual distinction and the cinematography captures the landscape reasonably well, but the plot is derivative and formulaic, recycling well-worn survival thriller beats. The acting from the two leads is passable but unremarkable, and the ending fails to deliver meaningful payoff or emotional resolution. Novelty is low as it essentially rehashes Independence Day-style invasion tropes with a smaller scope and budget.
