Through a newly energized faith, Elizabeth and Tony’s real enemy doesn’t have a prayer.

The Quartile Take

War Room is a faith-based drama from the Kendrick Brothers that resonated strongly with Christian audiences. The plot follows a fairly predictable redemption arc for a troubled marriage, hitting familiar beats without much surprise. Acting is serviceable but uneven — Priscilla Shirer and Karen Abercrombie give earnest performances, but the overall cast struggles with naturalism, a common critique of the film. Cinematography is functional and TV-movie in quality, with little visual distinction. Novelty is limited — while it earnestly champions prayer as a spiritual warfare metaphor, the formula closely mirrors the Kendricks' earlier works and broader faith-film conventions. The ending wraps up satisfyingly for its target audience, delivering the emotional payoff the genre promises.
