The Whole Truth is a competent but unremarkable courtroom thriller. The plot follows well-worn legal drama conventions with a twist ending that generates some interest but doesn't fully compensate for predictable pacing. The cast, including Keanu Reeves and Renée Zellweger, delivers serviceable performances without breaking new ground. Cinematography is functional and unambitious, typical of mid-budget thrillers. The film offers little novelty within the legal thriller genre, recycling familiar tropes of the defense attorney fighting for a seemingly guilty client.
