The Quartile Take

Mine is a solid survival thriller anchored by a high-concept premise — a marine pinned on a landmine for days in the desert. The plot is serviceable but leans heavily on flashbacks and hallucinations to pad its runtime, making the narrative feel stretched. Armie Hammer's performance is committed and carries much of the film, though supporting roles are thinner. Visually the desert cinematography is competent but rarely inspired. The landmine concept gives it a degree of novelty within the survival genre, though it shares DNA with similar one-location survival films. The ending feels somewhat underwhelming and unearned, failing to deliver the emotional payoff the setup promises.
