Quartile rating: 6.5/10 · 1 rating
A group of cold-blooded killers find themselves trapped on an alien planet to be hunted by extraterrestrial Predators.
Predators attempts to recapture the spirit of the original by transplanting the concept to an alien hunting ground, but the premise quickly reveals itself as a thin retread. The ensemble of killers-as-prey is an interesting idea underdeveloped by a derivative script that leans on familiar genre beats. Acting is serviceable with Brody and Braga doing competent work, though the characters remain largely archetypal. The jungle cinematography is competent but unremarkable. The twist involving Laurence Fishburne adds little, and the ending resolves flatly with minimal payoff. As a sequel, it recycles more than it reinvents, earning a low Novelty score despite a promising setup.
