An inexperienced college student meets a wealthy businessman whose sexual practices put a strain on their relationship.
Fifty Shades of Black is a spoof of Fifty Shades of Grey that offers little beyond cheap gags and recycled parody tropes. The plot is entirely derivative, simply mimicking its source material with lowbrow humor substituted for drama. Acting from Marlon Wayans is energetic but broadly cartoonish, while the rest of the cast struggles with thin material. Cinematography is functional at best, mimicking the glossy aesthetic of the original without any real craft. The novelty is minimal — the Wayans parody formula has been done many times before, and this adds little new to the genre. The ending is abrupt and unsatisfying, typical of lazy spoof filmmaking.
