Picking up after the events of Never Back Down 2, former MMA champion Case Walker is on the comeback trail to become champion once again.
Never Back Down: No Surrender is a straightforward direct-to-video MMA sequel that follows a formulaic comeback narrative with little originality. The plot recycles familiar underdog/redemption beats from the previous entries and countless other sports films. Acting is serviceable but unremarkable, typical of the DTV action space. Cinematography is competent for its budget, with the fight choreography being the visual highlight. Novelty is very low as it is a by-the-numbers sequel in an already derivative franchise. The ending delivers the expected resolution without any real surprise or emotional resonance.
