Samantha Kingston has everything. Then, everything changes. After one fateful night, she wakes up with no future at all. Trapped into reliving the same day over and over, she begins to question just how perfect her life really was.
Before I Fall is a competent YA time-loop drama with a female protagonist navigating social cruelty and self-discovery. The plot borrows heavily from Groundhog Day mechanics applied to teen drama territory, offering little structural surprise. Acting is serviceable, with Zoey Deutch delivering a solid lead performance that elevates the material. Cinematography is polished but unremarkable for its genre. The ending carries modest emotional weight but feels telegraphed. Novelty is low — the time-loop premise combined with teen social commentary was well-trodden by the time of release, and the YA source material keeps it within familiar genre conventions.
