Our House is a competent but unremarkable haunted house remake that treads familiar genre territory. The premise of a grieving family and a device that accidentally opens a portal to the dead has potential but is executed in a fairly predictable, by-the-numbers fashion. The acting is serviceable, particularly from the leads carrying emotional weight, but the film doesn't distinguish itself visually or narratively. The ending fails to deliver meaningful resolution or tension payoff, and the overall experience feels derivative of better entries in the haunted house subgenre.
