After surviving the incidents in Barrow, Alaska, Stella Olemaun relocates to Los Angeles, where she intentionally attracts the attention of the local vampire population in order to avenge the death of her husband, Eben.
A direct-to-video sequel to the 2007 theatrical hit, Dark Days is a largely by-the-numbers vampire revenge thriller. The plot follows a predictable arc of grief-fueled vengeance with few surprises, and the acting feels flat compared to the original. Cinematography is serviceable but lacks the striking visual identity of the first film's Alaskan darkness. The sequel adds little novelty, recycling the comic source material without the inventive atmosphere that made the original stand out. The ending resolves without much impact or originality. Across the board it lands solidly below average — a passable but forgettable genre follow-up.
