Its concept of cyclical time loops controlled by an unseen, incomprehensible entity is executed with real distinctiveness, and the Benson/Moorhead filmmaking duo stamp it with an unmistakable voice and tone that few films share. The plot is inventive if occasionally uneven in pacing, the acting is serviceable from the leads though limited in range, and the cinematography is competent and atmospheric without being especially dazzling. The ending resolves its central emotional and cosmic threads in a quietly haunting way that suits the film's mood, though it may leave some viewers wanting more.
