When a cop who is just out of rehab takes the graveyard shift in a city hospital morgue, she faces a series of bizarre, violent events caused by an evil entity in one of the corpses.
The Possession of Hannah Grace is a fairly formulaic supernatural horror film that doesn't do much to distinguish itself from the crowded possession/morgue horror subgenre. The plot is predictable and derivative, following well-worn horror beats without meaningful surprises. The acting is passable but unremarkable, with the lead doing serviceable work in a thinly written role. The cinematography is arguably the film's strongest suit, making decent use of the morgue's cold, sterile environment and oppressive lighting to generate atmosphere. Novelty is low — the premise blends familiar possession and haunted-location tropes without a distinctive voice. The ending fails to deliver satisfying resolution or a memorable payoff.
