A Minnesota police officer crosses paths with a committed and tireless vigilante as he follows the trail of a ruthless predator responsible for several abductions and murders.
Night Hunter is a serviceable but derivative thriller that blends familiar serial killer procedural elements with a vigilante subplot without doing much new with either. The plot starts with some intrigue but grows increasingly convoluted and implausible as it progresses, undermining the tension. The cast, including Henry Cavill and Ben Kingsley, delivers competent performances that elevate the material somewhat, though neither is given enough to truly shine. The Minnesota winter setting provides some atmospheric cinematography but is not particularly distinctive. The twist-heavy ending feels contrived and unsatisfying, a common pitfall of mid-budget thrillers trying to punch above their weight. Overall, a watchable but forgettable genre entry.
