When a hulking monster arrives on Earth and begins a mindless rampage, the Justice League is quickly called in to stop it. But it soon becomes apparent that only Superman can stand against the monstrosity.
The Death of Superman (2018, not 2019) is a faithful and emotionally resonant adaptation of the iconic DC comic arc. The plot follows the well-known trajectory competently, hitting the major beats with care. Voice acting is solid across the board with a strong ensemble. The animation is clean and serviceable within the DCAMU house style but nothing groundbreaking visually. Novelty is limited — this is a second animated adaptation of the same story (after the 2007 version) and the source material is very familiar to audiences. The ending, however, is genuinely powerful and emotionally earned, delivering Superman's death with appropriate weight and grief, standing as one of the stronger moments in the DCAMU catalog.
