A recently widowed traveler is kidnapped by a cold blooded killer, only to escape into the wilderness where she is forced to battle against the elements as her pursuer closes in on her.

The Quartile Take

Alone is a competent but fairly formulaic survival thriller that hits familiar genre beats without reinventing them. The wilderness Oregon setting is well-utilized and cinematography captures the isolation effectively, but the film offers little that distinguishes it from other woman-in-peril chase thrillers. Jules Willcox delivers a committed performance and Marc Menchaca is a credible menace, keeping the tension functional. The plot is straightforward and predictable, and the ending resolves in a somewhat anticlimactic fashion that doesn't quite pay off the tension built throughout. A solid genre exercise but not a standout entry.
