The Quartile Take

There's Someone Inside Your House is a fairly by-the-numbers Netflix slasher that attempts to modernize the genre with a social-media-age twist — a killer who exposes victims' secrets while wearing masks of their faces. The concept has some novelty on paper but is executed without much conviction. The plot follows well-worn slasher beats with a predictable mystery and underdeveloped characters, making the whodunit less engaging than intended. Acting is serviceable but largely forgettable, with the young cast struggling against thin character writing. Cinematography is competent and occasionally stylish, benefiting from decent production values, but nothing that stands out. The ending resolves without much impact or surprise, leaving little impression. Overall a middling entry in the genre that doesn't fully capitalize on its more interesting premise elements.
