When her husband abruptly ends their marriage, empty nester Kate embarks on a solo second honeymoon in Africa, finding purpose and potential romance.
Holiday in the Wild is a pleasant but formulaic Netflix romantic comedy that hits all the expected beats of the genre without much surprise. The African setting and elephant conservation angle provide some visual appeal and a slightly distinctive backdrop, but the plot follows a predictable trajectory of heartbreak, self-discovery, and inevitable romance. The acting from Kristin Davis and Rob Lowe is competent and charming enough to keep things watchable, and the African landscapes offer decent cinematography. However, the ending resolves exactly as expected, and the overall conception is fairly derivative of the 'woman finds herself abroad' romantic comedy template.
