To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You (2020)

Quartile rating: 6.5/10 · 1 rating

Lara Jean and Peter have just taken their romance from pretend to officially real when another recipient of one of her love letters enters the picture.

The Quartile Take

This sequel to the popular Netflix rom-com retreads familiar love triangle territory without adding much new. The plot feels formulaic with the introduction of John Ambrose as a contrived obstacle to Lara Jean and Peter's relationship. The acting remains charming, particularly Lana Condor who brings warmth and authenticity to Lara Jean. Cinematography is pleasant and colorful but unremarkable. Novelty suffers as it's a straightforward sequel that largely recycles the first film's emotional beats without significantly expanding the world or characters. The ending resolves predictably without much dramatic payoff, leaving viewers with a satisfying but unmemorable conclusion.
