A bad boy and a socialite girl hook-up.

The Quartile Take

Three Steps Over Heaven is a fairly formulaic Italian teen romance following the classic bad boy meets good girl template with little deviation from genre conventions. The plot offers nothing unexpected, hitting familiar beats of forbidden love and youthful rebellion drawn from Federico Moccia's popular novel. Acting is serviceable but unremarkable for the genre. The cinematography has some appealing Italian location shooting that elevates it slightly above average. Novelty is low given the well-worn premise and derivative execution. The ending follows predictable emotional beats without subverting expectations.
