A group of friends stranded near a desolate cornfield find shelter in an old farmhouse, though they soon discover the dwelling is the center of a supernatural ritual.
Husk is a fairly generic supernatural horror entry from the After Dark Horrorfest lineup. The scarecrow-curse premise has been done many times before, and the execution is largely by-the-numbers: a group of young friends stranded in a rural setting, an old farmhouse, a mysterious evil force. The plot offers little surprise or development, the acting is serviceable but unremarkable, the cinematography is competent low-budget work with some atmospheric cornfield shots but nothing distinctive, the concept recycles familiar scarecrow-horror tropes without adding much, and the ending resolves predictably without satisfying payoff. A solidly mediocre mid-tier horror film.
