Quarantine 2: Terminal (2011)

Quartile rating: 5.5/10 · 1 rating

A plane is taken over by a mysterious virus. When the plane lands it is placed under quarantine. Now a group of survivors must band together to survive the quarantine.

The Quartile Take

Quarantine 2: Terminal shifts the action from an apartment building to an airport terminal and airplane, which provides a modestly fresh setting compared to the original and its Spanish source material. However, the plot is formulaic zombie-virus survival fare with thin characterization and predictable beats. The acting is serviceable but unremarkable across the board. Cinematography follows the handheld low-budget horror aesthetic without particular distinction. The ending offers little surprise or payoff. The setting change earns a slight novelty bump, but the film is otherwise a by-the-numbers genre entry.
