The Quartile Take

Atlas (2024) is a serviceable but formulaic sci-fi action film. The plot treads well-worn territory—human distrusts AI, is forced to partner with one, and learns to trust it—offering few surprises and leaning heavily on genre tropes. Jennifer Lopez delivers a competent if unspectacular performance, and the supporting cast is adequate. Cinematography is polished with decent production values for a streaming release, featuring functional but unremarkable visual effects and action staging. Novelty is low; the human-AI bonding arc and rogue AI threat have been explored far more inventively elsewhere, and this entry adds little new to the conversation. The ending resolves predictably with standard genre beats, leaving little impression.
