Quartile rating: 6.5/10 · 1 rating

Filmed in Amsterdam on the European leg of his 2017 – 2018 Us + Them tour which saw Waters perform to over two million people worldwide, the film features songs from his legendary Pink Floyd albums (The Dark Side of the Moon, The Wall, Animals, Wish You Were Here) and from his last album, Is This The Life We Really Want?

The Quartile Take

Roger Waters: Us + Them is a visually spectacular concert film that captures the grandeur of Waters' politically charged 2017-18 tour. The cinematography is genuinely exceptional — the interplay between the elaborate stage production (stunning projections, lighting, and visuals) and the camera work elevates it well above a standard concert recording. The setlist draws heavily on Pink Floyd classics (Dark Side of the Moon, The Wall, Animals, Wish You Were Here), which satisfies fans deeply but offers little narrative arc or dramatic development beyond the concert structure itself — plot and acting are irrelevant categories here in the traditional sense, scoring low as expected for the genre. Novelty is moderate: while Waters' theatrical, politically outspoken concert presentation is distinctive, the concert film format itself is well-trodden, and the anti-establishment messaging, while sincere, is familiar Waters territory. The ending winds down naturally with the tour's emotional peaks but doesn't deliver a particularly memorable cinematic conclusion.
